Our first products appeared on the Polish tables in 1992. Then our motto became: always ride the wave of flavour. Years passed, culinary trends and tastes changed, but we have been faithful to our idea. Thanks to that, we are now one of the leaders of fish processing in Poland. A company known and valued for its dishes and appetizers with a distinct flavour, offering over 200 delicious proposals: from classic salted fish to perfectly prepared and seasoned dishes, such as the delicious Greek-style fish. We supplement traditional offerings, such as herring in cream or pickled fish, with seasonal assortment, which is a real treat for anyone who enjoys fish delicacies.
In 1995, we moved our plant to Chojnice, where the company gained more momentum. Our portfolio was then expanded with herring-based and vegetable salads in small packages as well as herring fillets in sauces, 250 g. This was only the beginning of the development of our production capabilities. Today, after further expansions, the area of the plant is 16,000 m², boasting 17 production lines. We employ more than 650 people. Thanks to investments in development, we have made our mark in the fish processing industry, always riding the wave of flavour.
Currently, SEKO has the most diverse product offer in Poland. Starting from pickles, through roast products in sauces, frozen foods, ready meals with groats, galantines, spreads, vegetable and herring-based salads, to food packaged in cans and aluminium foil containers. The “Jedyna Taka” mackerel steak in oil 190 g, was awarded and certified as an innovative product, and our bulgur groats won an award in the 8th Carrefour “Autodiagnostyk ” campaign in the category of innovation challenge for suppliers. We pride ourselves on the fact that our plant meets all EU requirements and standards for fish processing. We have introduced the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points system (HACCP) and certified quality standards: International Food Standard (IFS) and Global Standard for Food Safety (BRC).
Achieving a truly perfect flavour takes a great deal of dedication. That's why we tirelessly explore the secrets of culinary nuances, adding original and non-obvious condiments and spices to classic fish dishes. We have created mouth-watering recipes that are a real delight for the palate. We are constantly trying to expand our range of herring-based products. In our portfolio, we already have over 220 products divided into several categories! Furthermore, more than half of the products in our range do not contain additives, dyes or artificial preservatives and we are constantly striving to improve this result. Because only nature gives us the very best.
There are hundreds of ways to take a well-known recipe and make it even better with innovation. In SEKO, we have probably already tried each of them, but this knowledge has only whetted our appetite for more. In search of the best fish we go to the fisheries of Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Germany and Canada. We are always watching global culinary trends and looking for new inspirations, because we know that good tasting fish dishes are worth it. Our position as the industry leader requires us to do so. This is what our customers expect from us.
Where will you see SEKO products? Our delicacies – salted fish, round’n’round herrings, vinegar and oil pickles, fillets, roast products with marinade or sauce, galantines, herring-based and vegetable salads, sandwich spreads, canned fish, frozen products, products in aluminium foil containers, as well as dishes from the Healthy and Easy range, are waiting in retail chains and stores throughout the country. Since we care about the quality and standards of production and food safety (which is confirmed by numerous certificates), many products and dishes of the SEKO brand can be found on foreign markets, including Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ireland, England, Romania, Italy, France and Lithuania. We are everywhere where good flavour is valued.
Investments in machinery and modern infrastructure are not only a necessity. They are, above all, an impulse for further development. This process is progressing dynamically, thanks to which we can effectively compete with the largest players on the market. Our efforts have been appreciated by the financial industry for years, which is best proved by more than 10 prestigious titles, including the GazelaBiznesu (Business Gazelle), awarded to SEKO. In addition, in 2007 we debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
